    • Quickly: NFS shared folders via home network problem persists and CIFS folders I get but when I try playing A-V files all I get is sound - no image (Codec: MS MPEG-4 Video v3 (DIV3))...

      Scanning of HB went less well than in E2 - 2009 channels, while E2 in the same STB finds
      2155...

      I swear this image (the first one that comes up of the two included, works better on $ly IT than E2 in F500HD (CS)... Smooth as a baby's bottom...

      However, no full functionality, like E2 - lots of frustrations... and there shouldn't be...

      Web TV hasn't got much to brag about, sadly...

      Couldn't find YouTube etc.

      The testing continues... ;)

    • Hmmm, the NHD2 version found even less channels - even considerably less - at 1819 or some such number (from memory, as I did it yesterday late)...

      I had problems deleting stuff in channels list, again... only I had more success with the other version in DUAL NHD...

      I tried scanning for channels and found some missing TPs.

      A special problem (no signal):

      Hot Bird 13A
      12539.00H91EuropeDVB-S2
      PLS: Root+88PSK ACM/VCM
      Stream 127500 2/3Mediaset5,

      In 8PSK one needs 2/3, not 3/2, as it is in the extra possibilities for FEC (of the list of transponders) - when one presses SEARCH (blue button) then one can see 2/3 but still - nothing is found... Can it be found? Or rather, should it be found, this transponder? (Ferrari500HD also couldn't find anything with correct parameters, btw.)

      And now, all is messed up and I have to start from scratch, I can't open any Nova channels, plus I can't restart OSCam in the usual way and so on ...:tot:

    • Well, I´ve only astra 19.2, therefore I can´t say anything of HB transponders....
      I suggest that a right satellites.xml will success, but really don´t know, sorry.

      In fact : when scanning with e2 on astra, my stb find about 100 services more than Neutrino, but don´t know which / what ?(
      When I look in the channel lists > I can´t found other services as in Neutrino, and I missed no one.
      In the past this was also with aaf e2, may be it counts wrong ?? Don´t know, and is absolutely less essential important for me. :)

    • DBoxOldie, I sincerely thank you and your gallant crew for your enthusiastic efforts! I for one SERIOUSLY APPRECIATE these projects!!!

      Honestly speaking, however, Neutrino of all flavours needs a substantial improvement in many areas, if we are to have full functionality on the E2 level!

      If ever I win a lottery, sell well some of my music or marry a millionaires :D I wow to pay (well!!!) a few top programmers for a year or three :D to work full time on the many problems Neutrino HD has - and give away gratis(!!!) the results of such an endeavour to the community of enthusiasts!!!

      Alas, in the meantime, I see many problems (unsorted elementary functions on a systemic level, from tuner functions, motor setup, non-existence of extra plugins, online support and onwards), for whatever reasons(s), which frustrate an everyday user and it seems to me that it will remain like this - until I win the bloody lottery or fu#* that millionaires, sadly...

      Who knows, maybe I do place well my music one day - but if I do, such is my love of the hobby, I will come back with an intention to fight these shortcomings of Neutrino!!! ;)

      What do you mean ? The so called "skin changing" ? I´m quite shure that the Neutrino developers this will NEVER build in. ;)
      The Basic functions > watch TV, Multi recording, playing different media types are build in.
      The gimmick like web-tv YouTube player also ( honestly : I personally don´t use this > I have for that a PC ;) )

      Plugins: well > People must have ideas and then they may write usefull plugins for Neutrino.

      Neutrino and E2 are different, and ist not the aim to get like E2.

      If one wants to use the functionalities of E2 > he have to use E2.

    • No, m8, sorry, you misunderstood.

      Sadly, much to my dismay, Neutrino lacks the full functionality and stability of Enigma2. That is what I mean. If one wants to improve, then one must compare with the best or at least the least crappy in the area. Linux kernel is the same, so why can't one ask the awkward questions as to what happpened to this, that or the other, why is it not working, can it be done, please? The presumption, of course, is that the team that writes it wants to hear from us, wants to learn, has pride about its work and values the users. Now, if that is not so then I misjudged those around Neutrino project. Sorry, I will leave, if that is the case. Easy and simple.

      But is it a solution to anything?!? Will anything change for the better? Will NHD grow and become a fully functional image?

      I mean, I did not invent the feedback that I gave about MP version. Others have warned them about failures with the tuner etc. It's silly, this, the basic function does not work!

      Moreover, Thomas put the link to it in the thread that deals with a different image. To me, this means "Please, test it, if you have time and write back". He could have opened a new thread and said "German users only, Astra 19E only!" But he didn't. He effectively put it under our noses for a reason. So, I did as he asked.

      Only to be told that "this is not for me", that "the image is perfect", that "there is nothing anyone can tell them about the image" etc. Fine. Don't publish it, don't ask people to test. Do it for yourselves, MP Team, give it to friends. If you are afraid to hear from "others" and have no greatness to hear from "the other", then ban "the other" from the forum, tell them "Germans only" and peace. I mean, this is ridiculous! I have been around a bit, you know, on many boards but this - this takes the Mickey big time! I have yet to see - anywhere on the globe - "an image made for one nation only, under one satellite only, with one skin only and nothing more to be added to this perfection!"

      So, some images are woefully inadequate, from basic tuner configuration incapability onwards! I mean, to have just a single satellite... Imagine, no other than 19E (talk about self-centred attitude of that little gem!!!), which prevents any other satellite to hook onto - is enormously silly!

      The apologists say "this is for Germans". Is it really? And even if you do not CARE about anything and anybody but yourselves (but how about Germans in Switzerland, for instance, or in Luxembourg, Italy etc. etc.) - do all Germans think the same, feel the same, have the same dish, the same box, the same needs? Ahem... "No German is allowed to have more than 19E?" And what about 23E, for instance? There are German packages and channels elsewhere, you know. Honestly... It's beyond words, this unintelligent "answer" and "argument", i.e. tribal "defence" of such an image with "blinkers"!!! "No German shall differ from this! We determine what Germanhood in Sat TV is!" Seriously, grow up! I thought that my lot in the Balkans have this clan-ish thing going on but this... Wow!

      How about a variety of tools and plugins, then: from EPG (important for recording etc.) to subtitles, picons, streaming from the net (IPTV, film repos etc. etc.) and onwards?

      Or not losing your home network shared folders in NFS? As soon as I get them (if I get them mounted) they are gone. CIFS work but no image, at least for some formats I checked. Can we write back the honest feedback without having this magical sentence heard: "We in Germany don't use it!"??? Crickey...

      Look, this is now angering me, after I stopped laughing my head off! So, I will stop. May I warmly suggest you guys get your heads together. To do that you must first help some of your colleagues to get their heads out of their rear ends and then... maybe...

      The world has moved on, in the meantime, you know... In terms of ideology and technology. What I just heard on this forum is utterly sad!

      I will be happy to test and report back and help in ways that I can, not being a coder...

      Starting with enlightening you about the brave new world you now live in and many different needs of various people that inhabit this world alongside you lot...

      Well, as I said:
      I build only from Git, I´m not a developer.....
      Only Astra19,2 > I´ve only this Position, and there is no reason for me to put more LNB´s in the dish, but I think other Sat - Positions will work too.
      But sorry : I can´t test it
      NFS and CIFS share are working stable and good over hours here therefore : ?(
      And IP-TV and Streaming from i-net:
      It is for me mainly a HD Receiver, and for this quality is a high speed internet connection necessary, and the streams I have seen there: sorry, very poor and makes my eyes tired.
      But if one want to look this : may do, it´s not my aim.
      I prefer looking HD TV, and most channels I use are HD.
      Never mind, may be the developers make all this things to work.... ;)
      So once more: It is only a Sat Receiver with pvr function for me, and that works fine. :)

    • No worries, m8, I have no beef with you...

      I already told you that in your version the tuner bit is fine, one can scan and even if not perfect - it's doing the job! In MP no can do. I couldn't even change the list via FTP, so go figure... Lots of signal but "Scan failure", 100% of times. Mad, I tell you!

      Anyway, I'll try your new version tonight and report back, I hope...

      Then, it's time for E2 again, I think... More open to "the other"...

      P.S. Any chance of fstab syntax to mount NFS and CIFS shared folders that way, please?

      Why not ? It´s really simple:
      Put those lines ( of course your right server - IP , sharenames, user and password ) in fstab and it works

      i think this not the right way to get network devices mounted, better is to use automount as far neutrino network mount manager can't do this correctlly

      - try to mount any network device
      - again cat /proc/filesystems

      and now back to usefull functions of enigma2 and neutrino:
      - i have on my mipsel box (Gigablue800HD) both GUI running:
      enigma2 and neutrino (NHD2) and often i get frustration when i change to enigma2 (i do this just to borrow some stuff from enigma2 to neutrino ;)
      - DVB
      i'm cable user (unity media provider)
      -TV/Radio: i can enjoy this only when i use neutrino :D with e2 i have oft channel faild (sid not found in PAT).
      -epg/epgplus
      -teletext/dvbsubs/recording/timeshift: is same
      only sometimes when playing timeshift/records i have some probs while i'm using gst player also for ts files e2 is using internal player (dvr)
      -radiotext/rass
      -pip (not implemtend in nhd2) drivers of my both boxes cant do this sadly ;(
      -overlapping recording (not implemented in NHD2) NMP can do this.
      -online software update neutrino can this also
      -plugins/games there is a lot usefull plugins/games for neutrino (weather, etc...)
      etc...
      MEDIA:
      -ts/movie player like in e2
      -picviewer
      -audioplayer
      -internetradio
      -upnp browser
      -yt player
      -webtv
      etc...
      -
      the main difference is e2 use skin and easy api for plugins and neutrino not.

      can u plz reorder the bugs from your test for NMP and NHD2 ;)

    • Echhhhhh... After all this effort of yours, giving info, I was really looking forward to testing the new spark7162_BASE-rev5884_NHD2e-rev1548_flash!!!

      Alas, I have to inform you that all that failed because once it is finished, the installation never gives any image whatsoever....

      Flashed three times with the same result, much to my distress... LCD gives "3SAT HD" and - nada/zilch/zippo/nichts!

      Since my TV goes a bit darker it means it does not recognise any signal from the HDMI cable....

      Sorry, guys - but you have some work to do, it seems to me...

      Can you pack it again and give me the link, please?
